As with built structures, a business needs a strong foundation. That is why we remain focused on quality commercial property management at our core. We look after more than $130 million of assets for clients, big and small.
When there are premises becoming vacant, we fill them as quickly as possible. Our efficient marketing strategies sees us find most of the replacement tenants ourselves, but to “spread the net even wider” we have the unorthodox general policy of offering to other agents 100% of the leasing commission should they find a new tenant for us.
We are also there every step of the way to support our clients should they wish to sell, or even need our help with further acquisitions.
Hindmarsh Property Services (HPS) started trading back in the year 2000.
At that time Ken Hindmarsh already had lived on the Sunshine Coast for 11 years after a successful career as a site supervisor on major civil engineering infrastructure projects across Queensland and NSW.
When settling on the Sunshine Coast during the time of the Brisbane Expo (1988), he made the transition to real estate and quickly found his experience and training equipped him well for commercial leasing and sales as well as property development. For many years he put together and packaged numerous projects for developers. These ranged in locations from Brisbane to as far west as Goodiwindi and as far north as Cairns, with many many more here on the Sunshine Coast.
Being a “farmer” by nature, Ken set up HPS during the millennium year to grow a commercial property management business from scratch.
The first on the books was a 900 sqm office building in Maroochydore that Ken had packaged, leased to the State Government and project managed for the land owners through to completion.
From these humble beginnings the numbers steadily increased. A referral here, sale of a shopping centre and retained management there, every so often the completion of a new development which HPS would go on to manage. At times a whole portfolio, would come across.
It is remarkable that one of the Sunshine Coast’s largest commercial property managers was for so long run out of a home based office.
The steady growth meant more staff to the point that HPS eventually moved into commercial premises in Maroochydore. The location at 28 Maud Street is perfect for the future, being right on the main entry to the huge greenfield development which will see the old Horton Park Golf Course turned into the key regional centre’s CBD.
The gradual growth of the core management business has created a solid structure from which to build and diversify. Our clients can be confident HPS has strong thorough systems and a culture that continues to attract a quality team of like-minded professionals with common values and purpose.
Throughout this journey HPS have also provided the ancillary services our clients need. Leasing, Sales and Project Management are all handled competently by HPS and its experienced staff.
HPS has a proud track record in Project Management. These have ranged widely from the simple splitting of tenancies, to full centre refurbishments and complete development projects – from just an idea to settling the new tenants in.
